‘Countdown’ Trailer: Would You Want to Know Exactly When You Die?

STX Entertainment has just released the trailer for Countdown, an upcoming horror thriller starring You‘s Elizabeth Lail.

First, let me say that “Death? There’s an app for that.” is a great tagline. Next, can I say that I will be seeing this solely because Elizabeth Lail is in it. I am a huge fan of the Lifetime/Netflix television series You, and a lot of that is because of Lail’s performance as the female love interest Beck.

As for the film itself, the premise is smart, but the execution doesn’t look appealing. It looks like a supernatural force is involved in the “deaths” where I would have rather seen the deaths played out as being accident or illness related. There being an otherworldy being that can be killed or defeated kind of makes me lose interest in what is otherwise a solid idea.

Plot Synopsis:

In COUNTDOWN, when a young nurse (Elizabeth Lail) downloads an app that claims to predict exactly when a person is going to die, it tells her she only has three days to live. With time ticking away and death closing in, she must find a way to save her life before time runs out.

Countdown hits theaters October 25, 2019.

What do you guys think? Interested in seeing this at all?
