Yesterday we shared an Alt+Poster but John Alvin for Revenge of the Jedi. Today, we bring you a few teaser trailers. That’s right: Lucasfilm was so far into the marketing for what would become Return of the Jedi that they actually produced trailers with the earlier title.
If you caught that Alt+Poster, you will remember we discussed George Lucas’s account of why the Revenge title was even used. The fact that there are trailers for the movie with the title Revenge of the Jedi throws water on an already unlikely story from Lucas.
I don’t know if it was just the tone of commercials back then, but these reminded me of toy commercials for some reason. Trailers seemed to be made by picking clips from the movie at random and throwing them in in no particular order. I like it.
