Down the Tubes: ‘Uncharted 4’ Cut Scene Deepfake Gives us Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake

Down the Tubes is a (semi) regular feature where we, the SAW staff, share our favorite movie-related videos with the Wasteland.

It’s common knowledge that the majority of Uncharted fans want to see actor Nathan Fillion (Castle, Firefly) play protagonist Nathan Drake. However, Sony hates giving audiences what they actually want to see and instead cast Tom Holland as a young Drake (yeah, cause that’s what we wanted).

Thankfully, YouTuber Jarkan has released a new deepfake video that has superimposed Fillion’s face over top of Uncharted 4‘s Drake. It sometimes looks uncanny, but mostly it just looks frickin’ cool! If Sony won’t give the fans Fillion as Drake, then I am so happy we have the video below (and the sweet Uncharted short film starring Fillion).

What did you think of the cut scene with Fillion as Drake? Would you be interested in seeing Naughty Dog release Uncharted animated movies of the four video games using this technology? I’d be down if it meant finally seeing Fillion as Drake (of course, we’d need him to voice the character too).

What is your favorite Uncharted game, and who was your dream casting for the roles of Drake and Sully?
