Two major Warner Bros. movies have just been given new release dates.
Dynamic Duo has been moved back from June 30, 2028, to September 22, 2028. The move reportedly has to do with Warner Bros. believing the movie has the makings of a perfect back-to-school animated feature that will appeal not only to schoolchildren, but teens and college kids, à la Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Although I’m sure Dynamic Duo no longer opening against Paramount’s Call of Duty was another factor in its new release date.
What is Dynamic Duo? Well, it’s an upcoming stop-motion animated DC Studios film reimagining the early days of future Robins Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. It’s being made by a new animation studio out of New Orleans named Swaybox and that studio’s husband-and-wife creators Arthur Mintz and Theresa Andersson.
The new release date comes shortly after InSneider announced the voice cast for the movie. Mason Thames as Dick Grayson, Logan Kim as Jason Todd, Lee Pace as Red Hood One, and Steve Buscemi as Red Hood Two.
Also on the move is the untitled third Gremlins movie. It will no longer open on November 19, 2027, but instead October 6, 2028. Chris Columbus is directing the long-gestating threequel. The current draft was written by Hannah Marks off a screenplay by Columbus, Zach Lipovsky and Adam B. Stein.
