Michael Mann’s Heat 2 and Ari Aster’s Scapegoat just added some major star power.
According to TheWrap, Ebon Moss-Bachrach is in final talks to play Kelso, a character originated by the late, great Tom Noonan in Mann’s original Heat. Guy Pearce was being considered for the role before Mann and the team decided to go with Moss-Bachrach.
Heat 2 begins shooting in November, with Mann back in the director’s chair. Moss-Bachrach joins an all-star cast that includes Leonardo DiCaprio as Chris Shiherlis, Christian Bale as Vincent Hanna, Stephen Graham as Neil McCauley, and Odessa Young as Charlene.
Newcomer María Cid is also in talks to play Gabi, one of the few new characters in the sequel. Unfortunately, TheWrap adds that Inde Navarette is not in the sequel, despite past reports claiming otherwise.
As for Scapegoat, Deadline reports Jude Law is in negotiations to co-star opposite Scarlett Johansson in Aster’s A24 thriller. Jacob Elordi also recently joined the cast.
While plot details are under wraps, some have speculated that it’s about a doctor who operates on an internet-famous person. Others claim it’s a sci-fi romance, while some have said it’s more of a traditional drama for Aster. So, yeah, these insiders don’t know shit.
