Jodie Turner-Smith & Lee Jung-jae Join ‘Star Wars: The Acolyte’

Deadline has reported that Jodie Turner-Smith (Queen & Slim) and Lee Jung-jae (Squid Game) have joined the Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte. As of this report, Lucasfilm has declined comment. So far, the only confirmed cast member is Amandla Stenberg with showrunner Leslye Headland.

In a December 2020 press release, the show is described as “a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era”

So, the plot has me interested, but I have no idea who the actors and showrunner are. I feel like Korath the Pursuer in Guardians of the Galaxy, saying “Who?”. Don’t fret, I’d almost prefer a show full of new faces. I’ll give it a chance. Then again, I’m a gigantic Star Wars Dork and I’m ready for High Republic fare.

Disney+’s Star Wars: The Acolyte is currently in pre-production.

Everyone, let’s discuss this below! Do you think packing a Star Wars show with new faces is a good idea?
