Ke Huy Quan has joined the cast of Loki season 2, Disney announced Saturday at its annual D23 Expo.
Quan most recently starred as Waymond Wang, a kind-hearted and goofy husband and father, in Everything Everywhere All at Once. The role has put Quan in the race for a Best Supporting Actor and generated buzz around the return of the former child actor, known for his roles as Data in Goonies and Shortround in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige announced Quan’s addition to the series during Marvel’s portion of D23 but did not go into character details. However, others have noted that he will be portraying a TVA employee.
Moon Knight directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorehead have been tapped to helm season 2 of the series, which brings back stars Tom Hiddleston, Owen Wilson, Sophia DiMartino, and Jonathan Majors as Kang.
Loki was the first Marvel Disney+ series to get a second season following strong reviews and viewership. Season 2 will premiere in 2023.
