Logo and Synopsis Revealed for Kingsman Prequel ‘The King’s Man’

The next film in the Kingsman franchise has an official synopsis and title!

Disney revealed that the film formally known as Kingsman: The Great Game will now be called The King’s Man (“clever girl”) and arrive on February 14, 2020. If I’m not mistaken, that is the absolute best Valentine’s Day gift any girlfriend could offer her beau.

Disney made the announcement Wednesday at its CineEurope presentation in Barcelona. Matthew Vaughn will once again direct from a cast that includes Ralph Fiennes, Matthew Goode, and Harris Dickson.

Plot Synopsis:

As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them. Discover the origins of the very first independent intelligence agency in The King’s Man…

When Kingsman: The Secret Service hit theaters in 2015, I absolutely ate it up. It was the first movie I saw twice in theaters. The “Church Scene”, Taron Egerton, the comedy, the stylized action; there was just so much to love about the film. It quickly became my second favorite film of all time. The hype for the sequel The Golden Circle was high. It unfortunately did not live up to expectations (I could have done without the Statesman, mass killing off of Kingsman, and the waaaaaay too long Elton John cameo).

The King’s Man is a chance for Vaughn and the franchise to redeem itself. I hope they can pull it off.

What did you think of the previous two entries in the Kingsman franchise? What do you hope to see in the prequel?
