Mark Ruffalo Is Ready for a ‘World War Hulk’ Movie

Mark Ruffalo, who plays Bruce Banner/Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is ready for his World War Hulk movie.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Ruffalo was asked if the upcoming Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law set up an adaptation of the “World War Hulk” storyline. The actor, surprisingly, didn’t spoil any future Marvel plans. Instead, he simply responded, “Any time they want to do it, I’m here.”

“World War Hulk” was a 2007 comic book crossover storyline that followed the previous “Planet Hulk” storyline. “Planet Hulk” saw the Illuminati send the Hulk into space, which led to him ending up on the planet Sakaar. The storyline also saw the Hulk overthrow Sakaar’s corrupt leader, find a wife and get her pregnant. “World War Hulk” saw the Green Goliath declare war on Earth, seeking revenge for the Illuminati’s actions.

If some of those plot points sound familiar it’s because the 2017 film Thor: Ragnarok loosely adapted some of the “Planet Hulk” storyline. I mean, it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility that Ruffalo’s Hulk managed to knock a woman up during his time on Sakaar. Maybe he’ll learn he has a son and that leads him back to Sakaar? Who knows. But I’d definitely be down for an Avengers: World War Hulk film. Just give us smaller Avengers films again, Marvel!

Do you want to see the “World War Hulk” storyline adapted? Or do you think it’s too late to tell that crossover event in the MCU?
