New ‘Ford v Ferrari’ Trailer

20th Century Fox has just released a new Ford v Ferrari trailer, and it’s worth checking out below.

Biopics and “based on a true story” movies are extremely hit and miss. If the film tries to go too realistic and accurate, it runs the risk of being an expensive documentary. Yet, If it goes too far the other way, it could be so historically inaccurate that it is not even funny.

I like the films that find a happy medium. I don’t mind some deviations for the sake of story. If there’s an interesting story, but it lacks any excitement, I’m okay if they throw in one or two punches of entertainment. I don’t know much about the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1966 France, but Ford v Ferrari is getting me interested in wanting to know more. Christian Bale and Matt Damon look to be giving a couple of Oscar worthy performances, and it looks like Disney might have it’s first Fox hit on their hands following their acquisition of 20th Century Fox.

Plot Synopsis:

Academy Award-winners Matt Damon and Christian Bale star in FORD v FERRARI, based on the remarkable true story of the visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles (Bale), who together battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Company and take on the dominating race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in France in 1966.

Ford v Ferrari hits theaters November 15, 2019.
