Sony just beefed up its 2027 film slate.
Per Deadline, Sony added several anticipated movies to its 2027 release calendar, beginning with 24 Jump Street. The long-awaited comedy sequel reuniting Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube will hit theaters on December 10, 2027.
Treasure Island, with Hugh Jackman as Long John Silver, will arrive a month earlier on November 11, 2027. Ridley Scott is directing, with Hugh Grant and Owen Cooper also starring.
Also added to the calendar are the Michelle Yeoh action movie The Surgeon on April 2, 2027, and the Mason Thames-Ella Bright drama Narcs on August 20, 2027. Plot details are under wraps for Narcs, but The Surgeon follows Yeoh as an expert surgeon who is abducted and forced to operate on a mysterious patient, only to turn 35 years of surgical expertise against her captors and outwit them in a fight for survival.
Of course, it’s not all good news. Helldivers has vacated its November 10, 2027, release date, and will now open on June 9, 2028. The release date change comes just a couple of weeks after Alan Ritchson was tapped to replace Jason Momoa in the lead role.
Lastly, Sony has moved Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki Grandgear from February 18, 2028, to MLK weekend January 14, 2028.
