Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has found its director.
According to Deadline, filmmaker Craig Gillespie is in talks to direct Supergirl for Warner Bros. and DC Studios. He is best known for directing the films Fright Night (2011), I, Tonya (2017), Cruella (2021), and Dumb Money (2023), and the television series, Pam & Tommy.
Supergirl is expected to be the next DC Universe movie to enter production, with DC Studios reportedly eyeing a Q4 filming start. DC Studios co-CEOs Peter Safran and James Gunn will produce.
As previously reported, House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock has been cast as Kara Zor-El / Supergirl. She is expected to make her debut as the iconic superhero in Gunn’s 2025 movie, Superman (formerly Superman: Legacy).
Ana Nogueira wrote the screenplay for Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, which is based on the comic book limited series of the same name by Tom King.
No release date has been set yet for Supergirl. We’ll keep you posted.
