On the heels of the major Star Wars news that Rosario Dawson will portray a live-action Ahsoka in the second season of The Mandalorian, we have our first synopsis for the upcoming Cassian Andor series.
We first heard about the Rogue One prequel in November 2018. It was announced that Diego Luna and Alan Tudyk would reprise their roles as Andor and droid K-2SO in the solo Disney+ series. Since then we haven’t heard much in regards to further casting or filming information.
The series was originally supposed to begin filming this June, but script rewrites pushed production. It’s highly unlikely filming would have occurred this summer anyway due to the current global crisis. As of right now, Cassian Andor is cracking open a cold one with his buddy Obi-Wan Kenobi, who is also experiencing production troubles.
However, The Illiuminerdi has uncovered the synopsis for the show, which is as follows:
A Star Wars show that is all about espionage and maybe heists? Yes, please! This would be the franchise’s first foray into the spy-thriller genre, similar to how The Mandalorian is very much its take on the Western. Cassian Andor was one of my favorite characters in Rogue One, so I am all for seeing how that character came to be who he was in that film.
And more Alan Tudyk is always welcomed.
What did you think of the synopsis for the series? Do you think this is something you’d watch?
