The Warrens are not done scaring audiences yet.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, The Conjuring 4 is in the works at New Line. The studio has hired David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom) to write the script for the upcoming horror sequel. Johnson-McGoldrick previously penned The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
James Wan and Peter Safran, the filmmaking team behind every film in The Conjuring Universe, are also back as producers.
The Conjuring films are based on the real-life case files of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. No word yet on which case the fourth film might use for inspiration. Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga are expected to reprise their respective roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren in The Conjuring 4, although no deals have currently been made.
The ninth installment in the franchise, The Nun 2, is currently shooting in France. No release date for The Conjuring 4 has been set at this time. We’ll keep you posted.
