Fans haven’t seen the last of Jigsaw Killer John Kramer.
According to Deadline, Tobin Bell has closed a deal to reprise his role as Kramer in the upcoming Saw 10 from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures.
The tenth film in the beloved horror franchise will begin production later this month. Kevin Greutert — who directed Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter — is directing the sequel.
In a statement, franchise producers Mark Burg and Oren Koules hyped the return of Bell:
“What a thrill to be reuniting with Tobin. His performance as John Kramer is part of the magic that made this franchise a phenomenon and his character is an active part of this film.”
John Kramer / Jigsaw is the antagonist of the Saw franchise, a former civil engineer who survived colon cancer and has subsequently elected to test others’ will to live via a series of deadly games, as a way of reaffirming his own. The character appeared in the first three Saw films before being killed off. Despite the character’s death, Bell has appeared as Jigsaw in every Saw film either through flashbacks or in an onscreen photograph.
No additional casting has been announced at this time. We’ll keep you posted.
Saw 10 will open in theaters on October 27, 2023.
Are you excited to see Bell back as John Kramer? Do you think Saw 10 will be better than Spiral?
