
Din Djarin and Grogu are heading to the big screen.
Per StarWars.com, Lucasfilm has announced The Mandalorian & Grogu, an upcoming theatrical film starring the fan-favorite duo from the Disney+ series The Mandalorian. Jon Favreau will direct the feature, as well as produce alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Dave Filoni. Production will begin in 2024.
“I have loved telling stories set in the rich world that George Lucas created,” said Favreau. “The prospect of bringing the Mandalorian and his apprentice Grogu to the big screen is extremely exciting.”
Added Kennedy, who is president of Lucasfilm, “Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni have ushered into Star Wars two new and beloved characters, and this new story is a perfect fit for the big screen.”
In the same announcement, a second season of Ahsoka, which aired on Disney+ in late 2023, was confirmed to be in development with Filoni returning. No other information on either project was revealed at this time.
The Mandalorian and Ahsoka are streaming on Disney+.
