The long-awaited crossover between the Transformers and G.I. Joe film franchises has just been cancelled.
Buried at the bottom of Deadline‘s article on Bradley Cooper being tapped to star in the new G.I. Joe reboot is the following sentence: “It also will be uncoupled from a previous crossover film with Transformers that is no longer in development.”
Well, damn, that’s a shame. A crossover film is exactly what both of these franchises needed, in my opinion, given that the last few entries in both properties didn’t exactly light up the box office. Chris Hemsworth was circling the crossover film, which was being written by Derek Connolly.
Are you bummed that the Transformers/G.I. Joe movie isn’t happening anymore?
