‘Uncharted’ Movies Loses Director; Tom Holland Still Attached to Star

Another director has departed Uncharted.

THR confirmed that 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg has left the project. At this moment, Tom Holland remains attached to star, but who knows what might happen given the current situation happening with Spidey.

Sony is apparently already looking at new directors and wants to lock someone into place so the film can start production early next year. If Sony is still aiming to make that December 18, 2020 release, that’s going to be one hell of a turnaround.

Trachtenberg is just one in a long list of directors that have entered and exited the project over the last decade. It seems that everyone is having a hard time cracking where to take this character. The video games do such a great job at blending action with story, that is essentially watching a movie that you can also play.

I don’t think we need an Uncharted movie, but I wouldn’t turn one down either.

Do you think an Uncharted movie will ever get out of development hell? Should Sony just put this naughty old dog down?
