The voice cast for Batman: The Long Halloween, Part One has just been revealed, courtesy of THR. Here are all the confirmed actors involved in the project and who they will be voicing:
- Jensen Ackles as Bruce Wayne/Batman
- Naya Rivera as Selina Kyle/Catwoman
- Josh Duhamel as Harvey Dent
- Billy Burke as James Gordon
- Titus Welliver as Carmine Falcone
- David Dastmalchian as Calendar Man
- Troy Baker as Joker
- Amy Landecker as Barbara Gordon
- Julie Nathanson as Gilda Dent
- Jack Quaid as Alberto
- Fred Tatasciore as Solomon Grundy
- Alastair Duncan as Alfred
Frances Callier, Greg Chun, Gary Leroi Gray, and Jim Pirri have also been cast as additional voices.
There’s a few familiar names listed above. Ackles previously voiced Jason Todd/Red Hood in 2010’s Batman: Under the Red Hood and Troy Baker has been a mainstay voice for the Joker for years now. I’m interested to hear Welliver’s take on Carmine Falcone and Josh Duhamel’s for Harvey Dent.
Chris Palmer is directing from a script by Tim Sheridan. The two previously worked together on Superman: Man of Tomorrow, which makes me wonder if this upcoming two-part film is secretly set in the same universe. Batman did appear in a photo in Man of Tomorrow meaning he does exist in that universe. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.
The Long Halloween, from writer Jeph Loeb and artist Tim Sale, ran for 13 issues from 1996-97. Per THR, it “told the tale of a Batman early in his career and a Gotham plagued by a killer, known as Holiday, who struck once a month.”
The project is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment. The Long Halloween, Part One will release this spring or summer with Part Two following in the fall.
What do you think of the voice cast? Do you think Ackles will make a good Batman?
