Alan Ritchson has emerged as one of streaming’s biggest stars, with his latest film, War Machine, set to receive a sequel at Netflix.
Per Deadline, Netflix is moving forward with a sequel to War Machine following the sci-fi action flick’s massive success on the streaming service. Since debuting on March 26, War Machine has reached 139 million views on Netflix, making it one of the 10 most popular original films to ever be released on the streamer.
Patrick Hughes will return to direct the sequel and co-write the screenplay with James Beaufort. Ritchson is likely to return for the sequel, although no deals are in place yet.
War Machine follows the final recruits of a grueling Special Ops boot camp who encounter a mysterious, deadly force.
