What is Harrison Ford’s Best Performance?

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

Oh, I already know what I’m about to start.

Harrison Ford has been acting steadily since the seventies. He’s shaped a couple iconic characters and starred as handful of other memorable roles. For some, it might actually be hard to determine what their favorite role of his is. So, since I don’t want this to become a Han Solo versus Indiana Jones debate down in the comments, I’m not asking that.

Han Solo or Indiana Jones? That isn’t what I’m after at all.

I want people to actually consider Harrison Ford’s entire filmography when I ask: what is Harrison Ford’s best performance?

I have to say, I think it might be Dr. Richard Kimble from The Fugitive. Ford gives a great performance and is really allowed to flex his dramatic chops. Granted, I haven’t seen Witness, where his performance actually garnered an acting nomination, so maybe I’m wrong. But out of all his performances, The Fugitive is one that is consistently great.

(And just for the hell of it, his performance as Indy is much better than his Han.)

So what about you, folks? What do you think is Harrison Ford’s best performance?

I’ll see you in the trenches.
