What is Your Favorite Stan Lee Cameo?

Our mission at SAW is to foster conversations about this thing we all love (or love to hate): film/TV. Many of our features are designed with you in mind. Your opinions, to be more to the point. You have ’em. We want to hear ’em.

Question of the Day (QOTD) is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a film/TV-related question that we put to you, the reader. The comments section below is like the feedback box at work; except, in this example, we actually read what you write and care about what you have to say.

Today would’ve been Stan Lee’s 100th birthday. Stan has had many cameo’s in many superhero movies over the decades which feature many of the different characters that he co-created back in the 1960’s.

So, the question I ask today is: What is your favorite Stan Lee cameo?

Stan Lee started at Timely Comics in 1945, working as an editorial assistant and had a few writing duties throughout the years. He would eventually rise through the ranks and become editor-in-cheif and rebrand the company’s name from Atlas Comics (which changed from Timely in 1951) to Marvel Comics in 1961. The rest is history!

Stan Lee has co-created many of the superheroes that we have seen grace our screens, big and small, over the decades. Which has spawned into the live action Marvel Cinematic Universe that has been dominating movie screens for over the past decade. He has brought joy and cheer to millions around the world within his own lifetime.

That is why I am choosing his cameo from Spider-Man 3, because the words that he speaks here to Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) aren’t just true of Spider-Man, which is indisputably his greatest character, but they also ring true to himself and perfectly sum up his life as well as his legacy in one sentence. One person truly did make a difference. ‘Nuff said.

So what about you, screenagers? What is your favorite Stan Lee cameo?

I’ll see you in the trenches.
