‘Wonder Twins’ DC Movie in the Works for HBO Max

“Wonder Twin powers, activate!”

Warner Bros. has hired Adam Sztykiel to write and direct a live-action feature film based on the DC Comics characters the Wonder Twins. The movie is being developed for HBO Max.

Who are the Wonder Twins you’re asking? Well, it looks like someone never watched Super Friends growing up.

Per THR, the Wonder Twins are “a pair of alien siblings named Zan and Jayna. The twins were known for their catchphrase, ‘Wonder Twin power, activate!’ said before Jayna transformed into any animal, while Zan turned into … the many shapes of water.”

The twins first appeared in Hanna-Barbera’s The All-New Super Friends Hour alongside other DC heroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman. They were later incorporated into the mainstream DC Comics universe and have appeared in other shows like Teen Titans Go! and Smallville.

No details regarding plot, but Sztykiel previously worked with DC on the Black Adam screenplay, which featured the Justice Society of America. Could we see the JSA help shape the Wonder Twins into capable superheroes? I guess we’ll have to wait and find out.

What do you think of the Wonder Twins getting their own movie?
