‘Bros’, ‘Mission: Impossible’, ‘Transformers’ & ‘A Quiet Place’ Get New Release Dates

We aren’t quite finished with pandemic movie delays I’m afraid.

Paramount has decided to push back the releases of multiple movies. The most disappointing delay, in my opinion, has to be the two upcoming Mission: Impossible movies. Originally slated for release this year on September 30, Mission: Impossible 7 will now hit theaters on July 14, 2023. Meanwhile, Mission: Impossible 8 will now open on June 28, 2024. It was previously scheduled for July 7, 2023.

And before you ask, yes it does seem like all we write about for Mission: Impossible is its numerous moves on the release calendar. Can we at least get a teaser trailer before summer, please? It’s all I ask for, Paramount.

Anyway, before I continue with Paramount’s release delays, Universal decided to jump on the newly vacated September 30, 2021 spot by moving its upcoming romantic comedy Bros back a month. Originally slated for August 12, Bros is being billed as “the first romantic comedy from a major studio about two gay men maybe, possibly, probably stumbling towards love. Maybe. They’re both very busy.” Billy Eichner stars.

Okay, back to Paramount. The studio has also delayed A Quiet Place 3, the third instalment in the horror universe and first spinoff, from March 31, 2023 to September 22, 2023. It has also removed Under the Boardwalk from the release calendar, and has dated Blazing Samurai for July 22, 2022. The animated film stars the voices of Michael Cera, Samuel L. Jackson, Ricky Gervais, Mel Brooks, George Takei, Djimon Hounsou, and Michelle Yeoh.

Oh, Paramount has also moved forward Secret Headquarters, a superhero film starring Owen Wilson, Michael Peña, and Jesse Williams from August 12, 2022 to August 5, 2022.

Finally, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will now open on July 19, 2024 instead of June 9, 2023. The film will be set in New York City in 1994 and introduce the Beast Wars line of characters into the franchise.

Are you bummed Mission: Impossible 7 has been delayed? I guess it’s time to update our most anticipated films of 2022 lists, screenagers.
