‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ & ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ Get New Release Dates

Despite every actor and director telling us that movies were back earlier this summer, they were obviously wrong. Movies are getting delayed again!

Paramount, who already delayed Clifford the Big Red Dog last month, has pushed two of its Tom Cruise tentpoles back. Top Gun: Maverick got bumped back quite a bit to May 27, 2022. Mission: Impossible 7, the previous owner of that spot, will now open on September 30, 2022.

Additionally, Paramount has delayed Jackass Forever from October 22, 2021 to February 4, 2022.

Over at Sony, they decided to push Ghostbusters: Afterlife back one week to November 19, 2021, the spot Top Gun: Maverick just vacated. And despite rumors of a move, Venom: Let There Be Carnage is still slated to hit theaters on October 15, 2021.

That’s it for now, but expect further delays from studios in the coming weeks.
