Netflix has released the official trailer for Coffee and Kareem, starring Ed Helms and Taraji P. Henson. The film first appeared on the Black List (a collection of the best unproduced screenplays in Hollywood) in 2014. Well, now it finally got made, so let’s take a look to see if the film will be better than the pun.
Okay, the highlight of this film will no doubt be the interaction between Helms and Terrence Little Gardenhigh, the kid who plays Kareem. There’s actually some really good moments in that trailer. Specifically, I thought it was rather smart to hide in the trunk of a car. I’ve never seen that done before in a film or TV show.
Although, a part of me wishes that Helms would star in a role where he doesn’t have to play someone who has shades of bumbling idiot coded into his DNA. But oh well, at least Henson looks funny as usual.
Plot Synopsis:
Coffee & Kareem begins streaming April 3, 2020 on Netflix.
What do you guys think? Interested in seeing this at all?
