‘Physical’, ‘The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers’ & ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ Renewed for Second Seasons

A trio of streaming programs have been renewed for second seasons.

Physical, created by Annie Weisman and starring Rose Byrne, has been handed a second season renewal by Apple TV+. In a statement, Apple TV+’s director of domestic programming, Michelle Lee, said:

“We couldn’t be more proud to showcase Annie Weisman’s singular take on this darkly funny, heartbreaking and bold story. And then we got to watch Rose Byrne inhabit this incredible, multi-layered character, giving us an unforgettable tour de force performance. We have been thrilled to see audiences around the world fall in love and feel seen by this show and we can’t wait for everyone to experience the next chapter in Sheila’s journey towards personal empowerment.”

I’ve been loving Physical on Apple, which honestly has the most consistent output of quality original programming on any of the streaming services.

Meanwhile, Disney+ has ordered second seasons of two its most popular franchises.

The Mighty Ducks: Game Changes will enter production on its second season in early 2022 while Star Wars: The Bad Batch will return with new episodes sometime that year as well.

Concerning The Bad Batch, President of Disney+ Michael Paull said:

“Fans have enthusiastically embraced the action and drama of Star Wars: The Bad Batch, and we are excited to see the Star Wars animated universe continue to expand on Disney+. As the dedicated streaming home for the Star Wars franchise, we can’t wait for the second season of this fan-favorite animated series.”

I haven’t watched either of the Disney+ renewed shows, but they’re on my watchlist. I know SAW writer Mitch is probably jumping with joy over Mighty Ducks getting renewed. After all, he does consider the original film a perfect sports movie.

Are you happy to see these three shows renewed? Seriously, start watching Physical on Apple TV+ for all its ’80s aerobic-filled drama goodness.
