David Leitch is in early talks to direct Jurassic World 4, the seventh installment overall in Universal‘s Jurassic film series.

According to Deadline, Universal has set a July 2, 2025 release date for the untitled Jurassic World sequel, which is being scripted by David Koepp (Jurassic Park, The Lost World: Jurassic Park).

For the unfamiliar, Leitch is best known for co-directing John Wick (2014) with Chad Stahelski. His other directorial efforts include Atomic Blonde (2017), Deadpool 2 (2018), Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw (2019), Bullet Train (2022), and the upcoming The Fall Guy (2024).

Jurassic World 4 will be a standalone sequel to the previous Jurassic World trilogy. No cast members from the previous six films are expected to return for Jurassic World 4.

The film will be executive produced by Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley will produce and David Leitch and Kelly McCormick will also produce through 87North. Executive Vice President of Production Development Sara Scott and Creative Executive of Production Development Jacqueline Garell will oversee the project for the Studio.
