Sony, Disney, and Warner Bros. have dated several of their upcoming movies for theatrical releases, so let’s run them down.
First up, Sony has added an untitled horror movie from Screen Gems to the release calendar. It will open in theaters on January 6, 2023. The studio has also announced that Missing, the next installment in the Searching franchise, will open in theaters on February 24, 2023.
Sony has also delayed a trio of films: Madame Web will now open on February 16, 2024 (instead of October 6, 2023), Kraven the Hunter hits theaters on October 16, 2023 (instead of January 13, 2023) and Garfield will meow into theaters on May 24, 2024 (pushed back from February 16, 2024). An untitled Sony / Marvel movie has also been dated for July 12, 2024.
Next, Disney has removed Lucasfilm’s Star Wars film Rogue Squadron from the release calendar. It was originally supposed to come out on December 22, 2023. The studio also announced that Next Goal Wins from Searchlight will open in theaters on April 21, 2023 while Haunted Mansion will now open on August 11, 2023 instead of March 10, 2023. The Disney animated film Wish will open on November 22, 2023, just before Thanksgiving.
An untitled Marvel movie originally set for February 16, 2024 has been moved to September 6, 2024. Finally, the studio has dated two upcoming live-action films: Snow White on March 22, 2024 and Mufasa: The Lion King on July 5, 2024.
Oh, and Warner Bros. will now release Magic Mike’s Last Dance in theaters instead of on HBO Max. The upcoming threequel will release on February 10, 2023.
